AG-Venture / Home & Garden Showcase
"Agriculture"
Have you ever wondered what the word mean? Some say that agriculture is working the land, producing crops and/or raising livestock. Today's agriculture includes so much more: agronomy (crops), animal science, horticulture (plants), entomology (insects), dairy, agriculture business, soil science, agriculture economics, aquaculture (fish), forestry (trees) and more.
This year we are expanding our Ag Venture exhibit and display. This event consists of all areas of agriculture. We will have the Coliseum building that will house some small farm animals in a petting zoo with Ponies and Pals from Canton.
Agriculture information exhibits inside the Coliseum:
Blackland Prairie Gin -- cotton
Dadant -- honey
Kelley's Produce -- pumpkins
Lamar County 4-H
Lamar County Master Gardeners
Lamar County USDA
Paris Pecan Company -- pecans
Peanut Patch (Lonnie & Ginger Winton) -- peanuts

Valley Feed Mill
Agriculture exhibits outside the Coliseum:
Ag Power -- farm equipment

Paris Farm & Ranch -- farm equipment
Ponies & Pals -- petting zoo
Red River Valley Antique Tractor Club -- antique farm equipment
Local residents will have the opportunity to enter and exhibit their home grown or canned fruits, vegetables, plants and flowers for judging. The Lamar County Master Gardeners will be in charge of displaying the entries in the Home and Garden Showcase and will be available to answer any gardening questions.
For the second year we will have a Pumpkin Patch for children ten (10) years old and under. The children will select a pumpkin that they can decorate on site and take home free of charge.
